The Colour Mill

Power of Grand river provided prosperity and new destinies for generations of industrialists and immigrants in Ontario. Today, old nineteenth century towns dot the slow moving but powerful river, offering the new industry of leisure and enjoyment in nature’s beauty.

At Paris, old textile mill dam makes for a great scenic opportunity, particularly in the Fall, September-October time. Railroad bridge, calmed river and changing colours of the season make for an unforgettable scene. Power used to make textile and build the industry is now giving a great moving mirror for nature’s colour show.

Even though it is an hour drive from Toronto, the trip to Paris and Grand river is always rewarding and rejuvenating. Going to the banks of Grand, one always returns more energized.
