Great Lake Gate

Cloudy morning on the water and different tones of purple as the sun rises. Breakwall opening, meant to allow kayakers, rowers and sailors to venture into the open waters of a great lake acts as the gateway into adventure, danger and excitement.

On a calm but cloudy morning, deep colour adds deeper meaning. Smooth and purple colour leading out of the safety and into the greatness of our awesome waterway, water source and to a great degree reason we still live, and thrive, on the shores of this lake. More abstractly, the opening gives us the view of a bright horizon, a peak into the future carried forward by the sun, dawn of the new day. Either way, a gate into the greatness, adventure and things that are headed our way. Brightness of the tone and light inviting to embrace that oncoming future and destiny, however scary and adventurous it may become.

This photograph, a trace of a mild October morning, gives us a great piece to stand in front of and peek into the future, think about our next step, before we go ahead and go through this great lake gate into our next adventure.
