Cold Flame

Morning side-light from the rising Sun illuminates everything in a unique, welcoming yet cold glow. Late Fall along Toronto shores of Lake Ontario gives us that beautiful low morning Sun. Coming off the lake like a cold crisp breeze, creating a different sense of place.

Almost finished tree, leaves barely hanging onto the branch, are given new life, a fresh flame in coldness of a November morning. Last gasp of colour amplified by the glow of the low morning Sun, making the leaves pop for one last time, before winds pick up and take them all down, gone until next Spring.

Sad and beautiful, leaves burning out with this cold flame, last chance to capture and keep them. Isn’t photography just all powerful sometimes?
